Why am I sometimes afraid to do God's will?
Todd Clippard
This is an excellent question, but one difficult to answer. It may just be that you are a shy person, and have difficulty asserting yourself in all areas of life.
Many times such failures are the result of a lack of faith. Since faith comes by hearing the word of God, by lack of faith I mean one knows little about God's track record in taking care of His people. Perhaps we are new Christians and have little or no experience with the word of God, or have neglected to study God's word as we ought.
Spending some time reading about the characters of Hebrews 11, with some research into the actual events in the Old Testament, can help us develop faith in God to take care of us if we will do His will.
A study of the gospels and the life of Jesus is also a great help to Christians in the development of their faith. An examination of the book of Acts is also an encouraging study to develop faith.
