By: Tom Smith, Wooddale Church of Christ
It has been said, "If you repeat a statement often enough many will believe it."
This is certainly true when it comes to religion.
Here are a few examples of statements or beliefs mentioned often that are not found anywhere in the Bible.

It has been said, "If you repeat a statement often enough many will believe it."
This is certainly true when it comes to religion.
Here are a few examples of statements or beliefs mentioned often that are not found anywhere in the Bible.
DID YOU KNOW...
- that the bible nowhere says, "Accept Jesus as your personal Savior?"
- that not one denomination is to be found in the New Testament?
- that "the rapture" is not once mentioned in the Bible?
- that no one was ever told to "Ask Jesus into your heart" in answer to the question, "What must I do to be saved?"
- that every verse in the New Testament where baptism and salvation appear together always lists baptism before salvation? (Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; Acts 22:16; Romans 6:4)
- that even a child of God can sin and be eternally lost? (Luke 15:11-24; Acts 8:13-23; Galatians 5:4; II Peter 2:20-22; Revelation 3:16)
- that instrumental music cannot be found in New Testament worship? that vocal music is commanded? (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16)
- that the term "faith only" is mentioned just once in scripture and that in a condemnatory fashion? (James 2:24)
- that salvation is a free gift of God, but must be received on His terms? (Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 5:8-9; Romans 6:16-18)
